EMDR Therapy

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a comprehensive, 8 phase trauma treatment therapy that helps people heal from traumatic events and life-disturbing experiences. EMDR therapy is a trauma-informed somatic treatment modality that is evidenced based. It is internationally recognized as an effective treatment for healing PTSD from traumatic events such as abuse, auto accidents, and combat.

As research continues to grow on the efficacy of EMDR, this psychotherapeutic modality has shown to be helpful with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, chronic pain, addictions, and much more. EMDR therapy is designed to help people identify events that feel stuck and cause distress in their current lives. These events can become unprocessed memories with disturbing images, thoughts, emotions, and body sensations. Without treatment, these unprocessed memories may lead to distressing symptoms and behaviors.

EMDR therapy helps activate the brain's inherent system to process and integrate stored or stuck information. EMDR therapy will not erase the memory; a person will remember the story without the distressing emotional charge before the treatment. The effect of EMDR therapy is not desensitization in and of itself but includes the multifaceted impact of reprocessing all aspects of negative or maladaptive information into and adaptive, healthy, and beneficial resolution. The results will increase the clients' awareness and help build resilience.

EMDR therapy sessions are $175/ 50 minutes. Longer sessions are prorated accordingly.
